A friend in town to visit on Thursday... Looking for a veg-friendly place in Berkeley, north Oakland, not too pricey. Mexican, Chinese, or other - what do you suggest?

If you expand to Albany, I've grown rather fond Sophia Cafe (or maybe it's Sophia's Cafe--there's a sign advertising their Falafel and Fries special--hard to miss) 1247 Solano Ave by the BART tracks has fabulous falafel. It's very inexpensive and very tasty. You can walk out well fed for less than $10 a person. They don' t have a liquor license though if that's important to you.
